Zinedine Zidane: Perfect Gentlemen

Zinedine Zidane, Ambassador of Goodwill of the UNDP

In September of the year 2000, during the Summit on Millennium Development, the 189 Members States of the UN adopted 8 goals to eradicate poverty in the planet. For first time in history, there is a real consensus that addresses poverty as the principal worldwide problem. Rich and poor countries have promised to join their efforts to be able to achieve the carrying out of the 8 goals: which are:

1) Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
2) Achieve universal primary education
3) Promote gender equality and empower women
4) Reduce child mortality
5) Improve maternal health
6) Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases
7) Ensure environmental sustainability
8) Develop a global partnership for development

These goals to eradicate extreme poverty in the planet, touched Zinedine Zidane, whom feels honored working for the UNDP in each opportunity that appears, offering his image, his popularity and his sports capacity, that even though he is now retired, he still continues to participate of his best moments like a football juggler which he still is. Like a man of Peace and of good principles, Zidane is willing to collaborate, showing his persistent mission of helping in a generous way with mankind.
